An insightful graphic novel that explores the quest for love and meaning by a young couple in contemporary Barcelona
Bernat and Ginesta, on the verge of turning 30, have been in a relationship for a few years and decide to move in together: she leaves Barcelona, the apartment she has shared for six years with a friend, and goes with him to a small town.
Beforehand, they decide to travel and spend three weeks in Peru on a sort of honeymoon to mark the beginning of their new life as a couple, a stable and mature couple. However, the trip doesn’t go as planned and circumstances force them to discover their deepest feelings and the unfulfilled promises hidden behind an imposed desire for happiness.
They each will journey through grey spells and warm and shining moments, like the colors that accompany them. The illustrations that guide us on this voyage, depict routine and adventure, mediocrity and intensity, the precariousness normalized by an entire generation and the tangle of emotions we feel when we can’t ignore that something is missing.
